HR Coordinator
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Human Resource professional to join Lizard Island Resort as the HR Coordinator.
You will partner with the Resort General Manager and leveraging your HR knowledge and skills, you will provide support to team members and across resort management to optimise service delivery and operational management of staff.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Promoting a positive resort culture
- Supporting performance management of resort staff
- Leading all seasonal and high volume resort recruitment activities
- Overseeing OHS and WorkCover
- Delivering / leading training and employee development
- Ensuring legislative, policy and procedure compliance
- Managing the Healthy Lifestyle program for staff
- Setting up and maintaining electronic employee files
- Administer the Delaware North reward and recognition scheme on site including Team Member of the Month/Year, service awards and other recognition schemes as applicable
- Contribute to other employee engagement strategies and initiatives as outlined by the Management Team
- General HR administration and organisation e.g. payroll administration
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated:
- Technical strength through experience in a similar generalist role, preferably within a hotel or resort environment
- Previous experience living and working in a remote environment or demonstrated understanding of the unique challenges of remote sites
- Ability to facilitate a range of performance and employee relations
- Ability to build relationships across diverse teams
- Payroll administration experience
- Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation & Work Cover
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources highly regarded
- A demonstrated calm, mature approach

Public Areas Attendant
Lizard Island Resort has an amazing opportunity for experienced Public Area Attendants to join our team. As a member of our Housekeeping team, you will be responsible to ensure the upkeep and cleanliness of the entire resort is looking fantastic! This includes all guest public areas and back of house.What you will bring to the role;
- Experience in Public Areas cleaning (4/5 Star hotels/resorts)
- Sound knowledge in OH&S and Chemical usage
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Strong attention to detail

Food and Beverage Attendants
Delaware North at Lizard Island Resort has an opportunity for experienced fine dining Food & Beverage Attendants to join a small team of professionals providing exceptional service on this breathtaking property. Located 60 minutes by light aircraft NE of Cairns, you will experience a tropical island with crystal clear waters, idyllic dive locations and powdery white beaches.
Dining is one of Lizard Island's many pleasures. Saltwater Restaurant embodies the resort's understated elegance. The menu, which changes daily, is fresh and creative, showcasing the finest local produce and freshest seafood, and for those very special occasions we offer private beachside dining with personalised degustation menus.
As a member of our Food & Beverage team, you role will be responsible for delivering quality service to our guests across a variety of dining options and service times.

Delaware North are currently seeking a Chef de Partie to join our Culinary Team at Lizard Island Resort.
Key Responsibilities;
- Experience working in a high end modern, a la carte kitchen;
- Extensive knowledge of cooking techniques;
- Ability to work autonomously;
- Passion for guest service and experience;
- Supervise junior cooking and other kitchen personnel and coordinates their assignments.
- Observes and execute methods of food preparation and cooking, size of portion, and garnishing of food

You will experience a tropical island with crystal clear waters, idyllic dive locations and powdery white beaches. As a Kitchen Hand, you will play a crucial role within the Kitchen environment.
What your role will involve;
- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene to require standard
- Support the teams across all the kitchens in the resort
- Assisting Chefs with basic food preparation
What you will bring to the role;
- Experience working within resorts or similar remote living environment (preferred)
- Time management
- Team focused
- Experience in maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment
- Self-motivation and proactive approach
- Food safety certification, or willingness to obtain
Coxswains - Casual
As a Coxswain you will work with a small team to ensure our guests experience the very highest levels of service and safety while undertaking diving and snorkelling activities in and around the stunning reef off Lizard Island.
What you will bring to the role;

- Broad knowledge of the marine environment, particularly coral reef systems
- The ability to engage & motivate your audience

Beach Club Attendants - Casual
As a Beach Club Attendant you will work with our Activities team to ensure our guests experience the very highest levels of service. The role involves high levels of guest liaison and requires excellent communication with all resort Departments, whilst maintaining a high standard of guest services and customer relations in line with Delaware North standards.
What you will bring to the role;
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention for detail
- Strong organisational skills
- Broad knowledge of the marine environment, with particular focus Coral Reef Systems
- Previous experience and demonstrated skills in managing the administrative and operational demands of a busy activities department or similar function will be viewed favourably
Main Duties include but not limited to:
- To provide an informative and safe instruction on land and in water based activities which may include diving and snorkelling to all levels of guest and resort visitor.
- Resolve guest complaints to the guests satisfaction within your level of authority
- Ensuring that the dive shop is regularly cleaned and stocked with a full range of sizes and available merchandise and that the department Supervisors or department Manager is notified of any shortfalls
- Follow weekly schedules and keep updated with weather forecast, sunset, sunrise and tidal information
- Orientate new guest arrivals at the beach club providing information on the range of activities available and keep updated with the scheduling of activities.
- Booking of activities to ensure total guest satisfaction in this area
